You all are here for more than just a kit.

With Kayte's encouragement, I've decided to try and get my work, my wool work, published.

Before I could submit anything though, I needed to prove (to myself) that I know what I'm doing. While The Wool Food Market may speak for my felting skills, I needed to have some measure of success teaching someone through just words and pictures. So a kit was born and all of you were invited here.

I make no claims about knowing anything about ...

need to add to directions:

washing the wool ball base - using soap or detergent in wash

anything to not wash it with?

So, I just put together my first wool base and it's sitting in the nylon tubing waiting for the current load in the washer to finish. My question as I was doing this step was, "how much do I needle felt the base before it's ready to go into the tubing?" I needle felted it enough to be a cohesive ball, but it's still pretty soft and squishy. Maybe a picture would help so you know how much you need to do? I know it doesn't hurt to needle felt it more than you need to, but then again, ...

My orange roving seems a lot different than the red and green. I made the red and green apples first. The roving was nice and smooth and I really didn't need to do much to it before I wrapped it around the base.

But, the orange roving is a lot more "rope-y" (if that's a word). It was thicker in some areas, thinner in others, and harder to get even. Then, when it came out of the wash, the orange isn't nice and smooth like the apples. I just tried needle felting the areas that ...

Please post your initial thoughts on packaging and shipping.

Did it arrive in good shape?

Is the ziplock bag predictable or disappointing? Everything I do is through crafter's lenses. Ziplocs are a basic orgainzing staple for crafting so I naturally gravitated towards it.

Would you, as a customer, preferred something like this?

This of course would add to the price. 2.00 specifically. Plus added postage of course.

A quick break-down.

I just skimmed through the instruction book. Fun! I like how you created it with the spiral binding and the cardstock pages. One initial comment and one initial question, just from my first read-through.

Comment: In the back, there is a section for if you are going to hand felt it, instead of using the washing machine. My pages were out of order. I could tell that they were, but I'm not positive how they should be ordered because there aren't any page numbers. Did you ...

I am in the middle of opening a wholesale acct with a new wool dealer. In the process, my green wool became depleted and I've held off ordering (from my old source) to include it in the wholesale minimum from my new dealer.

So, you can have your kits shipped right away if you don't mind having a double red apple or 2 oranges. Or you can wait for the green to arrive...which I anticipate ...
